A Bit of a Preface -
Some may consider this to be inappropriate content on an entertainment website. But for millions of people, as well as myself, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, feelings of low self-worth, can be debilitating issues. Therefore, I will take the opportunity to offer a bit of testimony, and what space and platform available to me, to try and help someone else if I can.
It's impossible for me to go out and greet everyone personally, right when they need someone, and lend a hand or a kind word or a prayer. So, this space on my site is one small attempt to show you that someone cares, and there is a way out, and just offer some resources to think about, and a moment to pause and consider.....
This is an introduction to my testimony -
For today, and for now, as of this writing, and by the Grace of God, I am 71/2 years alcohol free. I did not attend any meetings regularly or follow a 12 Step Program as such when I first got sober. I have since, I still do on occasion, and I fully believe in the mission and method of AA. I am proud to publicly testify to my faith in Christ, and I lay the Glory for my present and any future recovery at His feet. I believe that my sobriety, while challenging, has benefitted me in the following ways - to have enough fortitude and clarity of mind to - -see a goal through -mend some relationships -better my life. All things that were previously unavailable to me while drinking or using dope. I've tried to keep my Faith in Christ and my desire to follow Him better each day at the center of my sobriety. -I have stumbled -I have fallen -some days are better than others. But that, for me, is where the rubber meets the road. We ALL have some broken places. I think some folks just hide it better than others. The times we are currently experiencing force us all to one side of the "spiritual fence" or the other. Whether we know it or not, whether or not we agree, or even if we just choose to look the other way. Our world is changing. And it's not going back. Therefore, I would be somewhat remiss, and ungrateful if I didn't dedicate some space to that which has allowed me to continue life...... if that makes any sense. Maybe someone will stumble upon this section at the right time, sitting in the right place, and realize that they need a change. Whether it is recovery from alcohol or drugs, or if you are just empty inside and you aren't sure why. There is something on the other side of pain, or using, or drinking, or fear, or whatever leads us down those dark roads. I offer a testimony to that which has saved me. Chris 07_08_25

Does 1-800-273-8255 still work?
On July 16, 2022 the ten-digit National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), was converted to an easy to remember three-digit number, 988. Even though this change happened to expand service and strengthen access to mental health care to those in need, the original number will remain in service.

Faith
This one can be tricky for some folks. We all grew up differently and have different beliefs. We go through different experiences in life. Most of us who have attended a church regularly have some sort of story about having been to a bad one. We have all seen short clips on the internet that challenge us. And certainly, our faith in people.
That being said, I post these links as sources of comfort or inspiration or learning for anyone who is looking. If you are here, there very well may be a reason.
