I recently purchased a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar. It was one of the "Sweetwater Exclusive" models. I think the nitro finish and binding on the neck, and perhaps the pickups were a little different than other Studio models. At any rate, the pickups can split the coils for more of a single coil sound. When I split the coils in this guitar the sound doesn't seem to thin out. Seems the opposite is true. Anybody ever experience anything like this??
